Boecillo – Valladolid, Spain

From January 12th to January15th, motorcycles from England, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Norway, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Germany, Romania, Poland, Russia and many other countries came to Valladolid. The European winter is crude, however, the wind, rain and snow did not stop the motorcyclists.

The weather did not stop the cheerfulness, the bonding, the camaraderie that lasted three joyful days in Boecillo Forest. On Sunday, thousands of motorcyclists got together at the Penguin Plaza to see the Golden Penguin awards 2006. The first award was for his Majesty King Don Juan Carlos I.

Though he was not present, the Royal House notified that Don Juan Carlos was honored to receive such award as he loves motorcycles. The second Golden Penguin was for Angel Nieto, 12 +1 times champion in the motorcycle world.

The Honorary Penguin was awarded to the King of the Road, Emilio Scotto, who ten years ago received the Golden Penguin. Emilio Scotto is an icon in the world of motorcyclists.

When Emilio Scotto got on stage to receive his award the audience raised their helmets as a sign of respect and admiration for Scotto’s unique adventures around the world.
